My class started our speeches a while ago and now we have said them in front of the class when we started I only had this:
My speech:
*Big thing to remember: Write like you talk. This is a SPEECH. You will be speaking it, so writing it as you would say it will help you connect with it more
- What’s my topic?
Why kids should go to school
- Who is my target audience? And why are they my target audience?
- My introduction: Think about how you want to start your speech. Possible ways:
- Question: Ask the audience a question. “Have you ever wondered how the Earth became round or how the ocean sits patiently in the same place?” - challenge the audience to think
- Story: Tell a story about an experience you or a friend has had. Make yourself more relatable
- Quote: If a famous person or even someone you know has made a strong comment about your topic
- Statistic: Any strong data to support your topic. EG, if you were doing a speech around animals going extinct due to global warming.. “Did you know that it is estimated that 99% of all the species that have ever lived on Earth are now extinct”
- Or if you were doing a speech about how lying isn’t a bad thing or that everyone does it: “60% of people can’t get through a ten-minute conversation without lying”
- My first point: do you realise that kids are not getting enough education. They some parents still refuse to bring their kids to school and go against the law.
- The support for my first point:
Einstein went to school and if your child went to school your child could get the brains of Einstein.
- Second point:
To get a degree in high school you need to succeed in primary school.
