This is a experiment that my class and I have created:

Scientific Lab Report

Experiment Question:
What happens when you mix together milk, food colouring and dishwashing liquid?
Background Knowledge:

( nothing )

Materials:

  • Blue milk
  • Plastic cup
  • Food colouring- red and blue
  • Cotton bud
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Set of instruction
  • Plastic plate
Hypothesis:
  • My prediction is that the milk and the dishwashing liquid will mix with the food colouring and turn one colour.

Procedure:

  1. Make sure you have all of the materiels.
  2. First, you need a plastic plate and a plastic cup put the plate and the cup on a flat surface.
  3. Next, you fill the cup up to half way with the blue milk and you gently pour the milk into the plastic plate.
  4. Then, you get the food colouring and squeeze 3 drop of each blue and red food colouring in but make sure that you do not wable the surface so that the colours do not mix.
  5. Finally, you get the dishwashing liquid and you dip a little bit of it on both ends of the cotton bud, and then you gently dip the cotton bud with the Dishwashing liquid on it in the milk with the food colouring in it and watch the satisfaction happen!

Observations:
When we poured the milk in it looked totally normal.
but then when the food colouring got put in the milk it the food colouring looked like fingerprints.
Next when we put cotton bud that had the dishwashing liquid in it it looked amazing.
It looked like the colours were exploding and it also looked like a galaxy!! Finally when it all mixed in to one colour it would not look like it was exploding ours at the end turned all blue.

Data/analysis:

When the food colouring hits the milk it has a reaction and movement. The milk makes the food colouring expand when they mix.

Results/Conclusion:

When the food colouring hits the milk it does not do that much.
But when the milk mixes with the food colouring and you put the dishwashing liquid in it it does quite a lot.

What I learned:
I learnt that when you mix things like food colouring, dishwashing liquid and milk you get quite a strange but cool reaction to it. And I learnt that if use dishwashing liquid it makes a strongest reaction
